In search of a left side to compensate for the departure of Renan Lodi, Olympique de Marseille is reaching the goal. An agreement has in fact been reached with FC Nantes concerning Quentin Merlin.

Olympique de Marseille will once again have been one of the main movers and shakers of the transfer window. After having already attracted midfielder Jean Onana, left-back Ulisses Garcia and striker Faris Moumbagna, the Marseille club is already on the verge of welcoming a fourth reinforcement and thus completing its current priority file.

Since the departure of Renan Lodi for Saudi Arabia, the Olympian leaders were in fact looking for a new left back. Many names have been mentioned in recent days, including those of Adrien Truffert, Nuno Tavares, Bradley Locko and Quentin Merlin. But faced with the refusal of Stade Rennais to consider the departure of its French international, the young Nantais quickly emerged as the number one target for Ciel et Blanc. And this despite the tidy sum claimed by the Canaries.

Because if since the arrival of Massadio Haïdara from RC Lens, the FCN was open to the departure of its young player, OM still had to agree to pay the 12 million euros required. According to L’Equipe, it is now done and the young international hopeful should commit in the coming hours for four and a half years.
