OM started the season with a bang. Under the leadership of Roberto De Zerbi, the Phocéens stick to the coattails of PSG. Mattéo Guendouzi, formerly of the house, does not hide his enthusiasm and predicts a historic exercise for the Marseille club.
Olympique de Marseille started its season off to a flying start. With an ambitious summer transfer window, the Marseille club already has an excellent record at the start of the 2024-2025 championship with 13 points collected in five matches (four wins and one draw).
This fanfare start places OM in second position in the ranking, tied on points with Paris Saint-Germain, provisional leader. If for some, the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi at the Vélodrome marks a real revolution, others, like Matteo Guendouzi, are convinced that the Olympians will finally put an end to a drought of twelve seasons without a title.
Guendouzi very optimistic for OM
“The way I look at OM this season, it’s a season that’s going to be very exciting, I’m going to miss 0 matches, that’s for sure. There is a very good team, a very good coach, a lot of players I play with at Lazio talk to me about him because he was at Sassuolo and he did magnificent things”judged the former Marseillais.
“I think the championship will be much more open than previous seasons because there are very important players who left PSG and that rebalances the debates a little. I have complete confidence in OM. I really think they can do something very big because they really have the team for it. And I have no doubt that they will lift a trophy, I don’t know which one, but that’s for sure.”said the French midfielder for Free Football.
