Three individuals have been charged with attempted murder for having fired on the vehicles of several OM players.

On the night of May 19-20, several players from

Marseille Olympics were victims of an attempted carjacking, after a trip to Le Havre which was their last match of the season. The events took place on Route de la Valentine, between the Commanderie training center and the home of victims Faris Moumbagna and Jean Onana.

An investigation had been opened by the Marseille prosecutor’s office, entrusted to the organized and specialized crime division (DCOS), for attempted murder following the shooting. The perpetrators had fled at the time. This Friday morning, the public prosecutor of the Phocaean city announced the indictment for attempted murder by an organized gang of three people.

OM players targeted by mistake?

“It’s a misunderstanding. They weren’t targeted because they are OM players.”Nicolas Bessone said at a press conference about the attackers, who therefore had the wrong target. The fact remains that the latter were placed in provisional detention.

Bamo Meïte witnessed this dramatic scene. “It’s better to forget and try to move on, I think… Now it’s the holidays, I’m trying to clear my mind. Between my injury and the incident that happened, it’s been a hectic year. It was a shocking scene, I was scared, that’s obvious. Now, today, I’m trying to take a step back from this situation. We are top athletes, we shouldn’t be involved in this kind of thing. I don’t want to talk about it too much, even to those close to me.”the Ivorian international confided in the columns of Parisian.
