On His Way? Update On Andrade El Idolo Leaving AEW And Possible WWE Return

Not so fast? We are in an interesting time in the wrestling world, as WWE is no longer the only major wrestling promotion in the United States. AEW has introduced a new option for wrestlers and as a result, there have been more people being able to get work on a prominent stage. Now someone else has left AEW, but moving back to WWE might not be as simple as it seems.

Andrade El Idolo reportedly left AEW following his loss to Miro at Worlds End on December 30. According to Fightful Select, his contract was reportedly supposed to expire earlier in the year but was extended due to injuries. During his time in AEW, he had talked about wanting to sign a new deal with AEW but eventually said he was returning to WWE. El Idolo reportedly told AEW that he was leaving shortly before Worlds End and was expected to sign with WWE again. If he has signed with WWE again, he has yet to make an appearance. However, WWE sources reportedly believe El Idolo will be returning.
