The All Progressives Congress and Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State have expressed readiness for the mock accreditation of the Independent National Electoral Committee, to be held on November 6.
While asserting readiness for the exercise, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Kennedy Peretei, urged the INEC to be fair in the conduct of the November 16 governorship election in the state.
He said, “We are leaving no stone unturned as far as preparations for the November 16 election are concerned. All we expect from INEC is to comply with its timelines and be professional in conduct.
“So far, several sensitisation programmes have been held. All these amount to nothing if the main election is not free, fair and credible. So, all efforts must be on delivering a perfect election on 16th November.”
In his comments, the state Director of Media and Publicity of the APC, Mr Steve Otaloro, said the ruling party was seriously campaigning ahead of the election.
“As we prepare for the mock election, we’re working hard to connect with voters through clear communication. Our campaign strategy follows the Electoral Act 2022, promoting respect and civility. We’re educating voters door-to-door, displaying our party logo, and emphasising peaceful elections.
“We’re also prioritising electoral security with security agencies and urging INEC to ensure necessary logistics. We’re ready for a smooth and successful mock election.”
