The One Chicago TV shows are merging together again! After five years, NBC‘s Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. are having an epic crossover event. The one-night event is set to air later this season, via TVLine. Keep reading to find out more… The storyline centers on a massive explosion in an office building that upends the entire city (above and below ground), according to the report. The shows used to have crossovers regularly, up until 2020, when the pandemic restrictions caused logistical issues, followed by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which added complications. “We all had to jump… out of a cannon because we were airing so quickly. But now that we’re all kind of getting our footing and coming up for air, there’s definitely talk of [doing another big one],” Chicago Fire showrunner Andrea Newman teased to TVLine last season. The last three-show crossover event, involving a bacteria outbreak, aired in October 2019, four months before COVID.
