Reigns has been the Universal Champion since August 2020 and has rapidly climbed up the list of all time title reigns in the company’s history. That is the case again, as Reigns has now surpassed one of the biggest reigns ever from one of the most prominent names WWE has ever had.

Reigns has now held the Universal Title for 1,238 days, surpassing Bruno Sammartino’s second reign with the title. This puts his reign fourth all time, after Sammartino’s first reign, Bob Backlund and Hulk Hogan. Reigns would surpass Hogan’s reign in September of this year. His next title defense is scheduled for next weekend’s Royal Rumble in a four way match.
