Manchester United have only eight days remaining to sanction any further signings or sales at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have already bid farewell to the likes of Alvaro Fernandez, Willy Kambwala, Donny van de Beek, Mason Greenwood, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and, yesterday, Facundo Pellistri.

Such transfer business falls in line with fans’ desires to rid of deadwood at the club while also raising funds and making space for new arrivals. It’s certainly been a transfer window that’s showcased INEOS’ intent, so hats off to them.

Yet, there are still several deals that could get over the line before deadline day. Scott McTominay and Jadon Sancho face uncertain futures, while there are a host of players that the club are actively looking to rid of to avoid them leaving for nothing in 2025.

Hannibal Mejbri, 21, is included in this bracket. He’s on the back of a tumultuous loan spell with Sevilla, whom he opted to join over Everton for the second half of the 2023/2024 campaign.

Why Hannibal’s time in Seville was nothing short of disastrous

After arriving in Spain in January, the Tunisian would’ve clocked pretty quickly that he’d made the wrong decision. He made his debut on January 21 with a 28-minute cameo off the bench before being benched for the entirety of the subsequent game against Osasuna.

On February 5, Hannibal featured for only eight minutes during a La Liga clash with Rayo Vallecano, after which he was again an unused substitute. The following gameweek, he made a one-minute cameo.

The Carrington graduate proceeded to make only three more appearances for the club, amounting to 64 minutes – 101 minutes in total across the four months. As such, he returned to United this summer no better off than when he left.

A fresh report from Daily Mail claims that the midfielder is now being targeted by longtime rivals Leeds United, with Daniel Farke keen to bolster his squad following the departures of several key first-team talents.

The Elland Road outfit may have to vie with Burnley, though, as both Championship sides have registered their interest in the ‘press-resistant’ youngster – as well as Celtic and Rangers.
