Hulu has handed a Season 3 renewal to Reasonable Doubt, its original legal drama series from Onyx Collective, produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios, and executive produced by Raamla Mohamed, Kerry Washington and Larry Wilmore. Additionally, Mohamed, the series’ creator and showrunner, has signed an overall deal with 20th TV, Deadline can reveal exclusively.

The renewal comes less than a month after Reasonable Doubt’s Season 2 finale, with the series, starring Emayatzy Corinealdi, remaining a fixture in Hulu’s daily Top 15 throughout its second-season run.

Mohamed has been at Disney and ABC Studios/ABC Signature since 2009 when she became a writers’ PA on Grey’s Anatomy and subsequently a fellow in the Disney/ABC Writing program. She went on to work as a writer-producer on Scandal and has been under overall deals at the studio since 2018, serving as a co-executive producer on the Emmy-nominated Hulu limited series Little Fires Everywhere and creator, writer and executive producer of Reasonable Doubt.

This marks a renewal of Mohamed’s overall deal and her first pact with 20th TV after the studio recently absorbed its now-defunct sibling ABC Signature. She will continue to develop and executive produce comedy, drama and limited series for all linear networks and streamers, with an emphasis on platforms across Disney Entertainment Television.

“I am so incredibly excited to continue my career with Disney Entertainment Television and to have Reasonable Doubt renewed for a third season,” Mohamed said. “Thank you to the teams at Onyx Collective and my new home at 20th Television for giving me the space to create this messy world with such refreshingly complicated and diverse characters. I promise to keep it spoiler free, but I can say that season three will have more Jax, more Lewis and more drama, so get ready!”

Reasonable Doubt centers on Los Angeles-based high-powered criminal defense attorney Jacqueline “Jax” Stewart (Corinealdi) as she deals with past traumas, a struggling marriage, motherhood and a murder case, all while trying to keep her life together.

Executive producing alongside Mohamed are Washington and Pilar Savone for Simpson Street, Wilmore via Wilmore Films, and Anton Cropper.

Mohamed’s other projects include a features with Devon Franklin’s company for Amazon and a rom-com for Universal Pictures. She is repped by UTA and Ziffren Brittenham.
