They need some help. There are all kinds of things that have to come together to make a wrestling show work, but ultimately it comes down to doing something that fans care about and drawing in their attention. It can be a difficult task and requires some rather intelligent and well prepared people. Now WWE is looking for someone else to join the ranks of their brain trust.

WWE has posted a job opening on LinkedIn, searching for a new member of the company’s creative team. The listing is specifically for Monday Night Raw and SmackDown with no mention of NXT, though “select programming on the WWE Network” is also mentioned. The posting includes a variety of qualifications, including:
• 5+ years of writing for TV or Film
• Producing and Directing experience a plus
• Professional TV or Film staff experience preferred
• Experience in Live TV production a plus
Previous experience working with On-Screen Talent, Creative Writers, and Producers
• Understanding of WWE’s audience (demographic and psychographic) preferred
BA/BS in Film, TV, Drama, Media Studies, Communications or similar field of study or validated experience in lieu of a degree preferred
There is no word on how long WWE will wait before hiring someone for the position.

Opinion: This is something that WWE has to do every so often and it is nice to see the company bringing in some fresh ideas. At the same time, there is very little mentioned about having knowledge about wrestling itself, which is rather fascinating in a lot of ways. That being said, whatever WWE is doing at the moment continues to work so why not stick with the successful plan?
