If you don’t know, the night before the 2024 Presidential Election, Oprah was in attendance at VP Harris‘ final rally in Philadelphia to energize voters in Pennsylvania. Keep reading to find out more… Fox News, among other outlets, reported over the weekend, “Vice President Kamala Harris paid Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions $1 million, just one example of millions the campaign spent on various entertainers during the vice president’s failed bid for president.” She denied this to TMZ, but further clarified in a lengthy comment on Instagram. Oprah said in a comment on Instagram, “Usually I am reluctant to respond to rumors in general, but these days I realize that if you don’t stop a lie, it just gets bigger. I was not paid a dime. My time and energy was my way of supporting the campaign.” Oprah then clarified who WAS paid, “For the live-streaming event in September, my production company Harpo was asked to bring in set design, lights, cameras, microphones, crew, producers, and every other item necessary (including the benches and chairs we sat on) to put on a live production. I did not take any personal fee. However the people who worked on that production needed to be paid. And were. End of story.”
