Orange Cassidy doesn’t want to face Jon Moxley again, but he might have to.

Since Jon Moxley won the AEW Championship from Bryan Danielson, the AEW roster has been terrorized by the Blackpool Combat Club. Orange Cassidy seems to be leading the resistance against the group. He could be next in line for an AEW Championship opportunity.

Orange Cassidy spoke with Youngstown Studio, where he talked about his run-ins with Jon Moxley. He revealed that he doesn’t want to deal with him again.

However, he feels like he needs to after what happened to Chuck Taylor on AEW Dynamite.

“I’ve had my run-in with John Moxley twice, and that’s one time too many. Every time I got a chance to step into the ring with him, it changed me forever—I wasn’t the same person afterward. And I didn’t want to have to deal with that again, because not only did it change me, but it also affected the people around me; it affected my friends.

“He’s made it very clear that he wants me to go through that again. This upcoming Wednesday, on Dynamite—Fright Night, Fight Night, or whatever Halloween special they’re calling it—I’ll make it very clear what my intentions are moving forward. It’s something I didn’t want to have to deal with, but now I feel like I need to. I need to insert myself into this situation.”

Orange Cassidy On AEW Championship Aspirations

Orange Cassidy was asked about his goals for becoming the AEW Champion. He revealed what it would mean for him to win the title, and what his plan would be if he did take home the gold.

“A world champion to me represents professional wrestling. I feel that it represents what professional wrestling should be, can be, is. And to wear that Championship. It means that you are the best wrestler in the world, and that you were the best professional wrestler in the world.”

“It’s something I never thought I would try to attain. I wrestled for it one other time. It was Double or Nothing, and I wrestled against Kenny Omega and PAC in a triple threat, um, and I pretty much had the match won, but Don Callis ruined that for me, like he does everything else in my life, um. And, uh, you know, I just—I just never, I never saw myself in that position, um. Maybe I just didn’t want it, or I don’t—I don’t know.”

“I think I would do what I—what I always do, especially, you know, since I had my international title runs. Like, uh, I do what, you know, I only do—I do what is necessary. I—I—I don’t try to do more; I don’t try to do less. I just try to do what I need to do to get the job done.”

“And I also feel that, as a champion, you should fight, and I think as a champion you should, uh, fight everybody and give everybody a shot to be a champion. And I think that’s, um—that’s something that I would try to continue on as AEW World Champion.”
