Orange Cassidy has been with AEW since 2019, and he has seen the company change a lot since then. He recently looked back on AEW’s journey up to this point.
Cassidy himself has come a long way during his run in AEW. During his time with the company, he has won the AEW International Championship. In recent months, he has established himself as a world title contender.
Speaking with Mike Jones ahead of AEW Worlds End, Orange Cassidy commented on AEW’s growth and its evolution. (H/t Wrestling Inc.)
“It’s been a very long five years if that makes any sense,” Cassidy said. “Especially going through the pandemic very early on in the company’s history, we were only like three months, four months, five months in, and then we had to shut down with the pandemic. Then we, coming back, we had like a little second honeymoon phase going back out on the road and stuff, and just getting that energy back…The company has grown so much, I mean I don’t know how we could fit any more phenomenal wrestlers in this roster but somehow Tony [Khan] does it.”
Cassidy will challenge for the AEW World Championship in a four-way match at AEW Worlds End.
WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Worlds End as it airs on December 28.
