Brock Lesnar last competed against Cody Rhodes at WWE SummerSlam in a losing effort. Following the loss, Lesnar has not been seen on WWE television.
Although Lesnar was off TV for months, many people believed that the Beast Incarnate would make a surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble. However, that didn’t happen and it was reported prior to the match that Lesnar wasn’t going to be in St. Petersburg where the Rumble was taking place.
It is believed that Lesnar did not make an appearance for the match due to his name being associated with the sex trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon. It was also reported that Bron Breakker served as Brock’s replacement for the match.
John Pollock of Post Wrestling has informed from a source that Lesnar was originally set to work with Dominik Mysterio at the 2024 Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event. It is yet to be determined if Breakker will replace Lesnar in this program with Dominik as well.
Bron Breakker entered the Royal Rumble match in the number 20 spot and was performing until he was eventually eliminated by Dominik Mysterio. During the post-Rumble promo, Breakker teased that he was not yet done with Judgment Day.
