The National Association of Nigerian Students Joint Campus Committee, Osun State Axis, has stated that it will no longer tolerate impersonation by some ex-students who are claiming leadership of the association in the state.
The flagship student group, in a statement signed by the Osun JCC chairman, Mr Solomon Ayobami, a copy of which was obtained in Osogbo on Tuesday, subsequently called on the general public to ignore those impersonating NANS leaders in the state.
Ayobami, who urged security agencies to investigate and apprehend the impostors, said the association would no longer tolerate such acts.
“We have been made aware that some individuals, some of whom have graduated and are no longer students, are parading themselves as leaders of NANS JCC in Osun.
“These individuals are impostors and should be completely ignored going forward. We urge them to desist from such actions, as they are detrimental to our organisation’s image and integrity.
“We will not tolerate any further impersonation. We urge security agencies to take necessary action against these impostors,” Ayobami said.
Unveiling the vision of the association under his leadership, Ayobami disclosed plans to prioritise the welfare of all students and commit to their well-being.
He added, “This administration will strive to bring a fresh vision of empowerment for every student in Osun, focusing on serving as a bridge between students and the opportunities they need to succeed.
“This administration shall be committed to fostering a culture of transparency and accountability within NANS/JCC Osun Axis. We shall prioritise open communication and active engagement with all students, ensuring that the voices of the many, not the few, shape the policies and initiatives of the association.
“We shall be committed to revitalising NANS JCC Osun Axis, making it a force to be reckoned with once again. We shall return NANS to its roots as a movement built by students, for students. This vision is to create a stronger, more united student body that can advocate for its rights, drive meaningful change, and build a brighter future for all students.”
