Above and beyond. There are all kinds of things that come together to make a WWE event work as well as it does and that includes people who do not work for the company. Some of the most important, if not the most important of all, are the fans, as they are the people who drive anything a promotion is doing. Now some fans have had a rather unique experience at a major event.

Over the weekend, WWE took part in Fanatics Fest, a major sports fan event, in New York City. According to a series of tweets by user noirstae and consolidated by Cagsideseats.net, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes’ session was cut short by the event’s organizers, who said that there was nothing they could do.
Noirstae said she was given a chance to meet Rhea Ripley in an attempt to make up for it and also met Drew McIntyre during her wait. Upon meeting Ripley, noirstae asked her to present Rhodes with a bracelet noirstae had made for him. Ripley is said to have taken the bracelet and promised noirstae that she would do it, while looking noirstae in the eye. Fanatics has not given a reason for Rhodes’ cancellation, but he did wrestle a match later that night in Fort Myers, Florida, which may have forced him to leave early.

Opinion: This feels like a situation where either Fanatics, or WWE (as in not Rhodes himself), tried to spread things too thin and it didn’t end well. That being said, it does not make things nay better for the fans who wanted to see Rhodes but did not get the chance to do so despite putting in the effort. Ripley is a heck of a substitute, but this is not a good look from anyone putting on the event and that is not something you ever want to see happen.
