In a recently released list detailing fund support for the Askira/Uba/Hawul Federal Constituency, Borno State, the allocation discrepancies for the constituency have raised eyebrows and concern among its residents. A careful examination of the numbers reveals a stark imbalance; only 20 individuals from the constituency have benefited, while a significant portion of the funds has been directed elsewhere. This inequitable distribution is disappointing for a community that has long awaited recognition and assistance to address its unique challenges.

The constituency, known for its rich culture and resilient people, is bogged by pressing issues that require urgent financial support and development initiatives. From inadequate infrastructure to limited access to essential services, our community’s needs are urgent and diverse. Given the significant struggles that we face, it is disheartening to observe a lack of representation in a funding allocation that was expected to uplift and empower our residents.

I commend the member of the House of Representatives representing the constituency, Dr Midala Balami for his ongoing dedication and efforts to foster equitable development. His commitment to uplifting the lives of all constituents has always been admirable, and we believe it is essential for that spirit of fairness to be reflected in every aspect of governance, especially in the allocation of resources. The current funding distribution, however, does not adequately mirror these values, leading many in the community to feel overlooked and marginalized.

As concerned citizens, it is our collective responsibility to advocate for a just and balanced approach to resource allocation. This situation prompts me to ask, how can we ensure that all areas, particularly those with pressing needs like Askira/Uba, receive fair opportunities for support? It is imperative that our voices are heard, and we call upon Balami to address these disparities assertively.

Despite the disappointment, I remain steadfast in my unwavering support for him and his vision for progress. my passion for his mandate stems from a deep-rooted hope that he will champion the cause of equity and fight for a more balanced framework for future funding initiatives. We trust in our leader’s commitment to advocate for our constituency’s fair share of resources, which are crucial for fostering growth, development, and overall well-being.

As a resident of Askira/Uba, I believe that every community deserves attention and sufficient resources to effectively support its residents. I urge our leader to take immediate action to rectify this situation and to ensure that our constituency is not left behind in the quest for progress and prosperity. It is critical to establish equitable funding mechanisms that recognize the specific challenges we face and allocate resources accordingly.

To facilitate change, I propose the establishment of community engagement forums, which ensure that our community’s needs are clearly communicated and taken into account in future funding decisions. Also, a transparent breakdown of funding allocations and project implementation within our constituency can help the community identify specific areas needing attention and ensure accountability.

Furthermore, local organizations and stakeholders should be encouraged to collaborate in developing comprehensive project proposals that align with the specific needs of Askira/Uba. By presenting a united front, we can improve our chances of securing the required support. Also, efforts directed at state and federal representatives should be intensified to highlight the needs of our constituency. By rallying a collective voice, we can amplify our concerns and ensure that they are taken seriously.

Urgently, a committee should be created to monitor the implementation of funded projects in Askira/Uba. This will allow us to provide feedback and ensure that resources are being used effectively and beneficially for our residents.

I believe that with commitment and collaboration, we can turn our disappointment into action. Let us harness our collective strength and work hand in hand with Balami to ensure that the voices of all constituents are heard and valued. Together, we can forge a path toward equity and justice in resource allocation, fostering an environment where every resident of Askira/Uba can thrive.

Is time for our community to unite and advocate for the much-deserved equity in funding that reflects our needs and aspirations. We can no longer afford to be overlooked; we must demand our rightful share of support. The future of Askira/Uba depends on it, and we owe it to ourselves and the generations to come to champion this cause.

Let us stand together, unwavering in our commitment to fairness, empowerment, and progress for all.
