The American people made their voices heard in the elections, and Monday was the realisation of millions of citizens’ wishes.
As a Nigerian scientist in the US, I am filled with uncertainties. There will be numerous changes, both in policies and other critical areas, as we saw with the executive orders signed by Trump.
No one can predict what’s ahead, but we can only hope it all leads to a positive outcome. It’s a 50-50 chance.

Trump’s presidency is going to have an impact. His actions will affect how wealthier Western nations can shield vulnerable African countries, like Nigeria, from climate change risks.
Based on his speech and what we expect, petrol prices should fall, and hopefully, Nigeria won’t need to import refined petrol from Europe. This would cut some costs and help maintain low price levels.

Trump is a man of his word, always keeping his promises to the American people. He’s empowering those who matter most and preserving the American Dream for those who have the country’s best interests at heart.
His victory is a testament to the strength of democracy and the will of the American people. This kind of transparency and accountability is exactly what Nigeria needs.
No more backroom deals or hidden agendas. Trump is truly a leader of the people.

Trump’s victory and inauguration are a good thing for America. As a lawyer, I can tell you there’s no reason to worry. I understand the concerns about immigration, but we’ve been through this before. I assure you, it’s a win-win for everyone.

Trump is focused on restoring law and order in America. I care less about his speech or his character; what matters to me is what his policies can achieve. There are many missing girls in the U.S., trafficked across the border, but they don’t talk about that. Trump is fighting against this, while his opponents target him.”
