According to a report from SPORT, Vitor Roque has his eyes set on making it big at Barcelona. However, if he has to leave, he does not plan to return to Brazil. Instead, he would prefer to join another European club, ideally one in La Liga.

Roque, at just 19, is already on the radar of Barcelona’s sporting management as a potential departure. In the first six months of his stint, his role has been limited and the technical secretary at Barcelona believes that for Roque’s development, it is crucial for him to play more minutes on the field.

This would help him adapt better and faster to the European style of play. Additionally, Roque’s departure would also free up salary space, allowing Barcelona to register new players.

Several options ruled out

Despite his limited playing time in the latter half of last season, Roque is highly regarded. Many clubs have shown interest in him. Porto were the first to approach Barcelona, but their offer did not meet the club’s expectations.

Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia have also shown interest in Roque. Most recently, Corinthians expressed a desire to sign him.

However, a return to Brazil is not on the cards for Roque. His agent, Andre Cury, has made it clear that Roque’s future lies in Europe.

Initially, Cury was against the idea of a loan move, but he has come to accept that it might be the best option for Roque at this point in his career.

Sevilla could be an option

Roque’s ultimate goal remains to succeed at Barcelona. But if he has to leave, it will be for another European club, with a preference for La Liga. Barcelona also see this as the best path for Roque to develop further as a player.

One potential destination for Roque is Sevilla. The club is looking for a replacement for Youssef En Nesyri, who is close to joining Fenerbahçe.

Sevilla see Roque as a fitting candidate to fill this gap. Despite some institutional tension between Barcelona and Sevilla this season, football negotiations between the two clubs remain smooth.

Barcelona are open to Roque gaining experience in La Liga, under the guidance of a coach who understands and believes in his footballing style.
