Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated Miss Faith Ayomide Ogundola, who emerged as the overall best student in the 2024 Energy Essay Competition organised by the National Electricity Regulatory Commission for SS2 students across the country.

Ogundola, a student of Ekiti State University International College, Ado Ekiti secured first place in the 2024 edition of the annual Essay Competition with the topic “How does the New Customer Protection Regulation (CPR 2023) Protect the Rights and Obligations of Electricity Customers?”.

According to a tweet by NERC on the Commission’s X handle, “over 500 SS2 students in Nigeria participated in the competition, which was marked by the West African Examinations Council”.

The governor, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, on Friday expressed joy that the investment of his administration in the education sector has continued to yield positive results.

Oyebode stated, “The governor feels proud seeing Ekiti children and youths competing favorably with their contemporaries nationally and globally and excelling.

“Governor Oyebanji said his government would not stop celebrating outstanding Ekiti indigenes who continue to do the state proud in their respective fields. The administration would continue to provide platforms and opportunities for Ekiti youths to exhibit their God-given talents,” he stated.
