The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, on Sunday, expressed satisfaction with the unity within the fold of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State.

The immediate past Osun governor subsequently urged party members to ensure they remain united and work together to achieve success.

Oyetola stated this virtually during a prayer session to celebrate his 70th birthday held on his behalf in Osogbo, the state capital, while he is away in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia performing the lesser hajj.

“I am highly honoured with the one-week activities put together for me as I joined the Septuagenarian club.

“I, however, appeal to you all to continue to work together for the sake of our party. I love the unity of purpose within the family. Please let us sustain the tempo for the sake of our state too,” Oyetola said.

Delivering a sermon at the event, the Chief Imam of Offa, Kwara State, Muyideen Salman, said Oyetola had enjoyed uncommon grace from God, noting that he had spent a large part of his life to raise people who had chosen to celebrate his birthday in a grand style.

He urged politicians to always place high emphasis on human capacity development, adding that by so doing, they would be creating people with capacity that would lift them when they are advancing in age.

Notable dignitaries at the event include the Director-General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dr Dayo Mobereola; the Ataoja of Osogbo, Jimoh Oyetunji, among others.
