The Oyo State government has concluded an induction workshop for the 33 local government supervisory councillors and special assistants in the state.

The workshop held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, at the weekend.

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, said the induction workshop was aimed at keeping the participants abreast of current trends in local government administration.

This was contained in a release issued on Sunday by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, made available to journalists.

Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo, Makinde implored the trainees to be agents of change.

Makinde also urged them to strive towards being the best while discharging their duties, and giving room for developmental strides in all sectors.

The commissioner expressed delight, in particular at the tremendous progress and peacefulness the state had witnessed under Makinde’s leadership, which, he said, were a testament to the governor’s sterling leadership qualities.

Ojo enjoined the participants to leverage the training modules, which, he said, had been meticulously designed to boost their understanding of governance.

The training was attended by local government area Supervisory Councillors and Special Assistants in the state.
