The Palestinian Ambassador to Ghana has donated food items to dozens of people as part of activities marking the end of this year’s Ramadan.

The gesture, supported by the Palestinian Community in Ghana, aimed to provide relief to the vulnerable and reinforce the values of kindness and generosity associated with the holy month

The donation, which took place at the Ambassador’s residence in Accra, included essential food supplies such as bags of rice, cooking oil, spaghetti, sugar, mackerel, and corned beef.

Addressing the gathering, the Ambassador emphasised that acts of kindness should not be limited to Ramadan but should be a continuous practice that transcends religious and cultural boundaries.

He expressed gratitude to the Palestinian Community in Ghana for their generosity and commitment to supporting the less privileged.

Drawing from the hardships faced by children in Gaza, he noted that Palestinians had become even more compassionate, striving to create better conditions for children globally.

He stated that “let love be our guiding principle. Wherever I go and whenever I have the opportunity, I make it a priority to advocate for peace because I understand its immense importance.”

“Peace is not just a word, it is the foundation upon which communities thrive and humanity prospers. However, true peace cannot exist without love.”

According to the ambassador, when love leads our actions, it naturally cultivates an environment of harmony, respect, and unity, adding that “that is why I urge everyone here to prioritise peaceful coexistence in all aspects of life.”

Let us remember that our words, choices, and interactions shape the world around us. If we allow love and compassion to guide us, we will create a society where differences are embraced rather than feared, and where conflicts are resolved with dialogue rather than hostility.

Above all, let us fear Allah in all our dealings, knowing that He commands justice, mercy, and kindness. When we act with sincerity and righteousness, we contribute to a world that reflects the very values of love and peace that we seek to uphold.

Prominent figures, including the leader of the Socialist Movement of Ghana, Kwesi Pratt, were present at the event.

Mr Pratt reaffirmed Ghana’s solidarity with the Palestinian people during their difficult times and commended the Ambassador for his selflessness.

He also urged individuals and institutions to emulate the Palestinian community’s generosity in supporting the underprivileged.

Mr Pratt indicated that the donation not only provides immediate relief but also reinforces the importance of compassion and unity across communities, regardless of faith or nationality.
