The Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, on Sunday, said President Bola Tinubu was not satisfied with the previous distribution of palliatives to the needy in the country toward easing hardship.

According to him, Tinubu’s dissatisfaction informed his decision to reconstitute a committee for the distribution of palliatives to get to the needy.

While flagging off the distribution of the Federal government’s palliatives to the needy in the North West geo-political zone in Kano on Sunday, Jibrin called on Nigerians to rally around the President to fix the country as this is not the time to apportion blame.

He stated that the President is working round the clock to enunciate policies toward revamping the economy to bring succor to the people.

“The President has done well by distributing palliatives, lamenting that the palliative support was not fairly distributed, that is why the President reconstituted the distribution committee.

“We are here to distribute the palliatives transparently and equitably and we are out to distribute the palliative down to the grassroots level,” the lawmaker said.

Earlier, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, disclosed that the Federal government had sent 90 trucks of foodstuffs and an additional 20 trucks to Kano, noting that it was not properly distributed.
