EXCLUSIVE: Pancho Mansfield is turning his producing deal with Blink49 Studios into an executive position.
Mansfield has been named President, Global Scripted Television at the company, which was founded by his former eOne boss John Morayniss.
Earlier this summer, Deadline revealed that he had struck a first-look deal with the company and was working on a problem-solving procedural with writer and producer Andrew Miller.
He will now oversee its worldwide scripted programming strategy including development and production of original content across global markets. He will report to Morayniss.
Mansfield was previously President, Global Scripted Television at eOne and oversaw its scripted slate, which includes Showtime’s Yellowjackets, Paramount+’s A Gentleman in Moscow, HBO’s Sharp Objects, ABC’s The Rookie and spinoff The Rookie: Feds, Freeform’s Cruel Summer, Fox’s Deputy, HBO’s Run and Netflix’s The Recruit.
Before working at eOne, Mansfield had his own banner that had a first look deal with Fox TV Studios, which spawned Damien and Queen of the South.
Blink49 Studios was founded by CEO Morayniss, Non-Executive Vice Chair Patrice Theroux, COO Nelson Kuo-Lee and General Manager Jeff Lynas and is behind a number of series on The CW including CBC co-pro Wild Cards, CTV co-pro Sight Unseen and rodeo-themed family drama Ride. Carolyn Newman is EVP, Global Scripted Television.
“We’re thrilled to officially welcome Pancho to our team in this new role,” said Morayniss. “Pancho brings a wealth of experience, creative vision, and a proven track record for delivering quality content that resonates globally. His deep expertise and industry relationships are invaluable. With Pancho and Carolyn Newman leading our talented executive team across the U.S. and Canada, we’re well-positioned to advance our ambition of creating compelling, original programming for audiences worldwide.”
“I’m excited to expand my role at Blink49 and continue our journey in bringing ambitious, high-quality scripted content to audiences worldwide,” added Mansfield. “We have an incredible strategic opportunity to grow our roster, champion great writers and producers and take creative risks that resonate globally. I look forward to continue working with Carolyn and helping drive our vision for original programming that breaks new ground and captivates audiences everywhere.”
