The Canadians scored the winning goal in the first half.
Jennifer Echegini came close to equalising for Nigeria seven minutes from time but her shot hit the woodwork.

The Super Falcons will now head to France on Thursday for the Olympics.
Randy Waldrum’s side will stay in Bordeaux for one week before their opening fixture against Brazil.
The Group C encounter against Brazil will hold at the Stade Bordeaux next week Thursday.
World champions Spain and Japan are the two other countries in the group.
