Asisat Oshoala believes the Super Falcons have the quality to win a medal at the 2024 Olympic Games.

The Super Falcons are returning to the women’s football event for the first time since 2008.

It will be West Africans fourth appearance at the Olympics.

Randy Waldrum’s ladies are drawn in a tough group with world champions Spain, Brazil and former world champions Japan.

Despite the pedigree of the team in the group, Oshoala is upbeat the nine-time African champions can make it to the podium.

“I have a lot of confidence in this team. We have many young players and we can make things difficult for our opponents,”Oshoala was quoted by fifa.com.

“We don’t just think about getting out of the group, I think we can actually walk away with a medal.”

The Super Falcons will square up with Brazil in their opening Group C fixture at the Matmut Atlanque Stadium, Bordeaux on Thursday.
