Toni Payne has expressed confidence that the Super Falcons will get a good result against Brazil at the Paris Olympics.
The Falcons will get their Olympic campaign off against Brazil in Group C on July 25 inside the Stade de Bordeaux.
Randy Waldrum-led team will also take on women’s World Cup champions Spain and former World Cup winners Japan.
Despite facing a tough opponent in their opening game, Payne believes the nine-time African champions can get a positive result.
“Brazil will be a tough team, they are very talented but as Nigeria we are at the level so it’s going to be a good match and I think we can get a good result against them,” Payne told NFF TV.
The Falcons are currently preparing for the Olympics in Sevilla, Spain.
Payne, who currently plays for Spanish women’s topflight club Sevilla describes their training camp as perfect.
“The training camp is going really well I feel comfortable here. It’s a bit hot but I think this is the perfect place to get ready for the Olympics.“
On the chance to compete at another major tournament for Nigeria, she said: “Being able to compete at the world stage again with this team is such a really good opportunity I’m really excited.”
Meanwhile, the Falcons will take on Canada in a friendly game as part of preparations for the Olympics.
