Peoples Democratic Party flag
The Peoples Democratic Party has appointed Chief Dare Adeleke and Olatunji Ayofe as chairman and secretary of the Ekiti State chapter caretaker committee, respectively.
PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba, in a statement released on Friday, stated that a 20-member committee will oversee the party’s activities in Ekiti State for up to 90 days (three months) or until a new Executive Committee is elected.
The statement read: “Following the expiration of the tenure of the State Executive Committee in Ekiti State, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on behalf of the National Executive Committee, hereby approves the composition of the Ekiti State Caretaker Committee to manage the affairs of the Ekiti State Chapter as stipulated in Section 21(2) (a-b) of our Party’s Constitution, for a period not exceeding 90 days (three months), or until a new Executive Committee is elected.”
The Ekiti State Caretaker Committee includes: “Hon. Ayodele Joshua, Agbetuyi Sunday Joshua, Hon. Olonila Ojo Benjamin, Mojisola Omotosho, Hon. Ojo Ayeni, Rt. Hon. Abeni Olayinka, Hon. Ademola Alade, Hon. Afolayan Akutupu, Hon. Bobby Jeje, Rt. Hon. Sina Animashaun, Hon. Araromi Akindele Samuel, Hon. Festus Idowu Akinbode, Hon. Ade Fajana, Barr. Ayo Oguntuase, Hon. Olanipekun Boboye, Hon. Adebayo Jackson, and Hon. Ojo Fasasi.”
Additionally, Asabo Ayodeji Victor has been appointed the committee’s administrative secretary.
The statement continued, “The NWC charges all leaders, critical stakeholders, and dedicated members of our party in Ekiti State to remain united and continue to work together for the progress of the party.”
