The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has secured a landslide victory in the recently concluded Zamfara State local government elections, clinching all 14 chairmanship positions and every councillorship seat across the state.
Announcing the results on Sunday morning, the Chairman of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC), Bala Aliyu, confirmed the PDP’s overwhelming success during a press briefing in Gusau.
“PDP candidates emerged victorious across all local government areas, including Gusau, Kaura-Namoda, Maru, Talata Mafara, and Anka, among others,” Aliyu stated, describing the elections as free, fair, and credible.
He attributed the smooth conduct of the exercise to the collaborative efforts of security agencies, election officials, and voters.
Wadatau Madawaki, the PDP representative at the collation center, lauded the results as a “resounding endorsement of the PDP’s leadership and commitment to the development of Zamfara State.”
He urged the newly elected chairmen to align with Governor Dauda Lawal’s Rescue Mission to ensure progress and prosperity for the state.
Independent election observers reported a generally peaceful atmosphere during the polls, commending the improved security arrangements that facilitated smooth and credible elections.
The victory reinforces the PDP’s dominance in Zamfara State and signals broad public support for Governor Lawal’s administration and development agenda.
