Penta has great respect for Rey Mysterio, but he hopes to forge his own path in WWE.
RAW Superstar Penta recently spoke with Shakiel Mahjouri of SHAK Wrestling. When it was mentioned that WWE has long been looking for the next Rey Mysterio, he made it clear that as much as he loves Mysterio, he wants to be the first him instead.
“I don’t want to be the next Rey Mysterio,” he said. “I want to be the first Penta El Zero Miedo. Because I love Rey, I love Rey Mysterio like luchador, like person. But Penta is different. My style is different. My person is different. And for this reason, I want to be the first Penta in WWE.”
The talented luchador is well on his way to carving out his own path in WWE. The former AEW star lasted an impressive 42 minutes and four seconds in his first Royal Rumble outing.
