Yesterday afternoon, Jürgen Klopp played his 489th and final match on the Liverpool bench, against Wolverhampton in the Premier League. The German technician will leave the Reds this summer, and make way for Arne Slot. During his tenure, the former Borussia Dortmund coach often crossed swords with Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City coach. While celebrating his title as champion at a press conference, the latter was asked about his feeling at seeing his biggest rival leave.

“I will miss him very much”he said with a trembling voice. “Jürgen played a very important role in my life. He took me to another level as a manager. We respect each other incredibly. He helps me with his team, he has been a great competitor in my life. I haven’t figured out how I can punish them like I can other teams. With him, it was so difficult”, added the Spaniard. A mark of respect between the two men.
