Jose Peseiro is delighted to be nominated for the 2024 International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) Men’s World Best National Team Coach award.
The former Super Eagles tactician will slug it out with 19 other coaches for this year’s award.
Peseiro was recognised for his exemplary role in Super Eagles’ impressive performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Super Eagles lost 2-1 to the hosts in a keenly contested final.
“Very proud and pleased to receive this nomination from IFFHS, a recognition that reflects the hard work and dedication that my coaching staff and I have invested over the years in serving the Nigerian national team. The records we break go down in history, as well as the unforgettable walk to the final of the AFCON,” Peseiro wrote on X.
“Thanks to the Nigerian Football Federation, the players for the dedication they showed in every training session and competition, and also the entire staff and fans who supported us and believed in our work.
“I also want to thank my family on a personal level for their constant support and encouragement.”
