Commercial fuel stations in and around Katsina metropolitan areas have increased the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit by N60.

The PUNCH learnt that fuel price at the NNPC mega stations goes for N665  while other fuel stations that previously sold for N830 naira now sell for N900.

It was noticed that most fuel stations in the area were locked as some residents resorted to government-approved NNPC mega stations.

Some motorists, Jamilu Ahmed, and Suade Malik, while speaking with our correspondent attributed the hike to the hardship Nigerians are facing

“If not, I can’t be here though there is no long queue but the pumps are the same as the private stations(sic),” Ahmed stated.

Lamenting, Malik said, “I have things to do but had to queue for fuel. Where I normally get my fuel from, they have increased their price from N830 to N900. In the situation of Nigeria now, one needs to plan.

“Going by NNPC’s N665 naira per litre, I have saved myself N235. Take, for example, my car is taking 60 litres, if you do the mathematics, literally I saved N14, 100.”
