EXCLUSIVE: 20th Television has closed a first-look deal with Peyton Manning‘s Omaha Productions to develop and executive produce scripted comedy, drama, adult animation and limited series for linear networks and streamers with an emphasis on content for Disney Entertainment Television platforms.

Omaha already is doing that with Chad Powers, the upcoming 20th TV comedy series starring Glen Powell for Hulu, which the company is producing. The first-look pact with 20th TV, part of Disney TV Studios, expands on that collaboration as well as Manning’s larger relationship with The Disney Company. Omaha has a first-look deal with ESPN for sports-related content. Chad Powers originated as sketch produced by NFL Films and Omaha that ran on ESPN+ as part of the Eli’s Places series.

“Working with the incredible team at Omaha Productions while developing and filming Chad Powers has been pure joy,” said Karey Burke, President of 20th Television. “They have been true partners at every turn, and share our commitment to creative excellence and culture defining storytelling. We are thrilled to keep making magic with Peyton and his entire team.”

Co-created and executive-produced by Powell and Michael Waldron based on the character by NFL Films’ Tim Rumpff and Steve Menzel, Chad Powers is set to premiere on Hulu later this year. In it, when bad behavior nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday’s (Powell) college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.

Tony Yacenda, Luvh Rakhe, Anomaly’s Adam Fasullo, ESPN, Eli Manning and Omaha’s Payton Manning, Jamie Horowitz and Ben Brown also executive produce. Omaha, which operates a full-service creative agency, will help with the series’ marketing campaign.

“We are thrilled to expand the partnership with our friends at 20th Television. With their help, we hope to create more shows that bring people together across a wide range of genres,” Peyton Manning said. “We are thankful for Dana Walden, Eric Schrier, Karey Burke, and Carolyn Cassidy’s support in addition to Bob Iger, Jimmy Pitaro, and Burke Magnus.”

Founded by NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning in 2020, Omaha is behind the Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli alternate telecast, aka the ManningCast, for ESPN. At the Disney sports network and its streaming offshoot ESPN+, the company also has been producing alternative telecasts around the NBA, college football, PGA Golf, F1, and the UFC; the Place franchise, hosted by Eli Manning, Abby Wambach, Vince Carter, P.K. Subban, Stephanie McMahon, Ronda Rousey, David Ortiz, Sue Bird, and John McEnroe; as well as the upcoming second season of Full Court Press.

In general entertainment, Omaha has been behind Hulu’s It’s All Country with Luke Bryan and its upcoming Andrew Santino’s comedy special as well as ABC’s game show The Final Straw and its CMA Awards telecasts.

Omaha’s collaborations with Disney also span live sports events, including the Pro Bowl Games, the NFL Flag Championships, NFL Honors and The ESPY Awards, as well as audio, featuring podcasts from Scott Van Pelt, Mina Kimes, Kenny Beecham, Kevin Clark, and Greg McElroy.

Last week, Omaha received a minority investment from former Endeavor Executive Chairman Patrick Whitesell’s new fund backed by Silver Lake. Peter Chernin has served as a strategic partner since his North Road made a minority investment in Omaha in 2023.
