Phantom Wallet integrates Coinbase’s Base, enabling seamless multichain support, enhanced security features, and easier access to DeFi and NFTs.

Key Notes

Phantom Wallet now supports Coinbase's Base, allowing users to manage Solana, Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Base assets in one wallet. The integration includes ledger compatibility and spam detection to protect users from scams and ensure safer transactions.Users can explore a growing range of DeFi applications and NFT platforms within the Base ecosystem.

Phantom has announced that it is adding support for Base. The addition will allow users to use Base with other networks like Solana, Ethereum, and Bitcoin in a single wallet.

Base is a Layer 2 blockchain by Coinbase that improves transaction speed and lowers fees on Ethereum. Integrating Base will allow Phantom users to access one of the fastest-growing blockchain systems. This update makes the multichain wallet even better for managing tokens, NFTs, and DeFi activities across blockchains.

Phantom shared features for the Base integration, including a single wallet for all blockchains. Users can manage their digital assets like Solana, Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Base in one place, so they won’t need to switch between different wallets.

This integration makes token management easy. People using Phantom can send, receive, and buy tokens like USDC and ETH on the Base network using debit cards, credit cards, Apple Pay, or Coinbase.

With this update, users can explore the growing Base ecosystem, which includes a range of DeFi applications and NFT platforms.  Also, Phantom users can easily view, manage, and showcase their NFTs and collectibles from across multiple blockchains, including Base.

The integration also allows users to trade more tokens across Base, Ethereum, Solana, and other chains, expanding opportunities for cryptocurrency trading, including popular tokens and meme coins.

Phantom revealed on their blog page that this new feature also comes with enhanced security, such as ledger compatibility, where users can connect their ledger on the mobile app and browser extension to keep their crypto even safer.

Spam detection is also available; Phantom automatically filters out spam NFTs and tokens, protecting users from scams. The multichain wallet has scam detection that flags potential and immediately flags malicious transactions once they are detected.

Expanding Opportunities in the Growing Base Ecosystem

Users interested in trying out the Base blockchain can do that by simply opening their Phantom wallet on their mobile or browser and navigating to the settings. After that, they can select Active Networks and toggle the switch to turn Base on. Once activated, Base will be fully integrated into the wallet, allowing users to access its ecosystem and features seamlessly.

The Phantom team expressed excitement about making it simple and secure for users to explore and use the Base network. With a growing range of apps, tokens, and NFTs available on Base, Phantom users are set to enjoy a more enriched and versatile crypto experience. They said:

“We’re excited to make it safe and easy for you to explore Base. With such an exciting ecosystem of apps, tokens, and NFTs, you’ll see that it’s not only fun to #BuildOnBase, but to use it too.”

Base creator Jesse Pollak stated on his official X handle that Base users can now explore Solana on Phantom. He stressed further, saying collaborating, building projects, trying new things, and learning together, leads to better results and experiences in the blockchain space.
