Phoebe Dynevor to Star In Shark Thriller For Sony; Tommy Wirkola Directing

Bridgerton breakout Phoebe Dynevor is in talks to star in an as-yet-untitled shark thriller that Tommy Wirkola (Violent Night) wrote to direct for Sony Pictures, Deadline can confirm.

Details as to the plot of the film are under wraps. But Adam McKay and Kevin Messick will produce under their Hyperobject Industries banner, with production to kick off in Australia this summer.

Best known for her role of Daphne in the first two seasons in the hugely popular Netflix series Bridgerton, Dynevor was also recently seen starring opposite Alden Ehrenreich in the thriller Fair Play, which the streamer picked up out of Sundance. Up next, she’ll be seen in a pair of thriller: Inheritance from filmmaker Neil Burger and Anniversary, which also stars Kyle Chandler, Diane Lane, Dylan O’Brien, Zoey Deutch and more.

Best known for helming Uni’s holiday action comedy Violent Night starring David Harbour, Wirkola’s other past credits include the zombie pic Dead Snow, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, What Happened to Monday and The Trip, to name just a few.
