Harry Maguire was unfortunate to miss Manchester United’s final games of the 2023/2024 campaign through injury.
The centre-half was ruled out of the last four fixtures of the Premier League season, as well as the subsequent FA Cup final at Wembley last Saturday. However, both Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez being available means that Maguire was unlikely to feature from the offset anyway.
Nevertheless, the 31-year-old England international is now hoping to reach full fitness in time for the Euros, which kicks off on June 14. He, along with fellow Reds Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo, were included in Gareth Southgate’s provisional 33-man squad, but both defenders have some work to do if they want to make the final cut.
