President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, met with the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, is in Nigeria on a two-day working visit.
The President is expected to discuss the Memorandum of Understanding signed during the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in China.
The economy, politics and oil and gas sectors are among the issues to be discussed at the meeting.
Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and Yi are expected to brief the press after the meeting.
Present at the meeting included the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; the Minister of Information, Idris Mohammed; and Tuggar, among others.
The Chinese minister was earlier received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by Dunoma Umar Ahmed, permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
