Since leaving Canal+ and the world of television, following accusations of sexual assault made by Marie Portolano, Pierre Ménès continues to follow and comment on football news. Particularly on his YouTube channel, where he regularly answers questions from his subscribers. An activity which would not bring him much money for the moment but which could allow him, in the medium term, to live even more comfortably.

Aged 61, the former sniper of the Channel Football Clubwho now lives near La Baule, currently has 65,000 subscribers on the video platform, but hopes to see this total increase quickly. “To earn a decent living, I think that when I reach 100,000 subscribers – I would say maybe within two years – we should be around 3,500 or 4,000 euros per month. I see it like that”he explains in complete transparency.

Pierre Ménès left Canal+ for 400,000 euros

“It will give me a nice little retirement supplement but it won’t profoundly change my life eitheradds the former journalist of the encrypted channel. Knowing that there are two of us on the beast (his collaborator takes care of editing and uploading the videos, editor’s note) and that we share the channel’s earnings 50-50 for the moment”. In 2024, in France, retirees will benefit on average from a monthly pension of 1,531 euros gross.

Money has never been a problem for Pierre Ménès, who recently confirmed having left Canal+ in exchange for a check for 400,000 euros. In 2019, on the Non Stop People channel, he gave the fee paid to him for his interventions on the show

Don’t Touch My Posthosted by Cyril Hanouna on C8:

“700 balls” gross per appearance, or 2,800 euros per month since he was then present on the set once a week.

A salary of 15,000 euros gross per month

In 2021, on the show At Jordan’she revealed the salary he received when he was still on a permanent contract within the Bolloré group, namely 15,000 euros gross per month or around 10,000 euros net after taxes. He also claimed to have received the sum of 100,000 euros for his partnership with the sports betting site Unibet. “It’s not exactly cheap. I still had my head in 4 by 3 in all the cities of France”he declared.

And in March 2023, during his trial, the former newspaper reporter The Team had indicated to the prosecutor that he received a disability pension of 6,500 euros per month, after having received a liver and kidney transplant. If he achieves his objective on YouTube, Pierre Ménès will therefore be a little more financially comfortable, even if the aim of this project is above all for him to be able to stay in contact with his community and football fans.
