Three years after his departure from Canal+, Pierre Ménès has only kept in contact with one consultant: “For all the others, I am dead.”

It has now been more than three years since Pierre Ménès’ life changed. Accused of sexual assault, the former columnist of Channel Football Club was removed from the air in March 2021, officially recording his departure from the encrypted channel a few months later. “It’s not a dismissal, it’s me who decided to leave”he then told AFP.

Since then, the 61-year-old journalist has continued to analyze football news on his YouTube channel, where he recently answered a question about the state of his relations with his former employer and his ex-colleagues. Relationships that have become almost non-existent. In the Canal+ team of consultants, very few have kept in touch with him.

Pierre Ménès and Canal+, the divide

Only Laurent Paganelli actually remained quite close to Pierre Ménès. “Laurent is, of all the people at Canal, the one – he is almost the only one – who has kept in touch with meconfides the former sniper of CFC. There is him, and there is Geoffroy Garétier. A little bit of Clément Gacheny too. For everyone else, I am dead, that has the merit of being clear. »

The words are strong, but they clearly reflect the divide that quickly widened between him and the Canal+ editorial team after the revelations about the Ménès affair. “Laurent, he really defended me body and soul when it was useful. We keep in touch, we call each other from time to time, we write to each other from time to time,” appreciates the sports journalist.

“Laurent Paganelli, I like him a lot”

“Paganelli, he is in life as he is on the microphonehe continues. He is an incredibly enthusiastic person. I think his enthusiasm sometimes even hides some pain. But there you go, I love him a lot and I’m very grateful to him for maintaining his friendship with me after all that. » A wink that will undoubtedly please “Paga”.
