PL: Brighton punishes Manchester United with the gong

Manchester United can have regrets. Having beaten Fulham last week (1-0), the Red Devils were this time unable to leave with three points against Brighton, or even with the long-awaited draw (2-1). However, there was no shortage of opportunities, as evidenced by the two goals disallowed for offside for Rashford (34th), but especially for Zirkzee (70th), guilty of cancelling a ready-made goal by Alejandro Garnacho.

If Welbeck had opened the scoring for Brighton in the first half against his former club (32nd, 1-0), his 100th career goal, Amad Diallo had cooled the AMEX Stadium by equalizing on the hour mark (60th, 1-1). As the minutes ticked by, we thought a draw was in the making… Until Joao Pedro, well served by the excellent Adingra at the far post, placed a devastating header in the 95th minute (2-1). A goal that allowed the Seagulls to record a second victory in as many games. Erik ten Hag’s men, for their part, have three points after two league games.
