Chelsea, in difficulty after a series of five games without a victory in the league, left the top 4 following their draw against Bournemouth (2-2) and were therefore keen to bounce back today against Wolves. For its part, Wolverhampton, which fell to 17th place, is struggling to confirm after an encouraging Boxing Day, marked by a victory against Leicester and Manchester United and a draw against Tottenham. The club remained by two heavy defeats against Nottingham Forest (0-3) and Newcastle (3-0).

On a poorly pushed corner, ONE ball arrived at the feet of Adarabioyo, who managed to deceive the opposing goalkeeper on the wrong foot to open the scoring (28th, 1-0). Before halftime the Wolves were back on the scoreboard. Matt Doherty recovered the ball after a big mistake from Robert Sanchez and converted the opportunity from inside the area (45th+5, 1-1). Marc Cucurella (60th, 2-1) then Noni Madueke (65th, 3-1) then came to take the advantage for Chelsea. A victory which allows Enzo Maresca's men to return to the top 4 of the Premier League with 40 points, ahead of Manchester City and Newcastle. Wolves remain 17th.
