Manchester United continues its series. Undefeated at the start of 2024, Erik ten Hag’s players extended their series by winning against Wolverhampton this Thursday, on the 22nd day of the Premier League. If we thought Manchester United was spoiling a long-controlled meeting, as often this season, the Red Devils were able to awaken sleeping resources to win 4-3. Starting at the kick-off despite the controversy of his nocturnal escapade, Marcus Rashford was able to ignore the context to open the score in the 5th minute of play (0-1), before Rasmus Hojlund, decisive passer on the first goal, adds to the bill shortly after (22nd, 0-2). Fifty minutes without a goal, then came Pablo Sarabia’s reduction of the gap from the penalty spot (71st, 1-2).

We then seemed to be heading towards a fairly quiet victory for the Mancunians, especially as Scott Mc Tominay drove home the point straight away to shower the Molineux Stadium (75th, 1-3). But that was without counting on the self-sacrifice of the Wolves, reassured after Killman’s goal (85th, 2-3), then the unsuspected equalizer from Pedro Neto on a quick counterattack at the very end of the match (90+5th, 3 -3). A draw then seemed to be taking shape but on the gong, Manchester United, guided by their youth, once again cooled down a stadium in meltdown. Found by Omari Forson (19 years old), the club’s nugget Kobbie Mainoo offered a spectacular solo rush before unleashing a superb shot leaving Jose Sa helpless (90+7th, 3-4). Thanks to this narrow but oh-so-important success, Manchester United moved up to 7th place in the Premier League. The Wolves are in 11th position.
