Author of a contrasting start to the season with two wins, a draw and a defeat, Chelsea traveled to West Ham on Saturday for the 5th day of the Premier League. Aligned in 4-2-3-1, Enzo Maresca’s men were quick to make the difference thanks to their goalscorer, Nicolas Jackson. Launched deep by Sancho, the Senegalese deceived Areola and launched his team perfectly (0-1, 4th). In the process, the Blues’ number 15, put into orbit by Caicedo, doubled the lead (0-2, 18th). Stunned and trailing by two goals at half-time, the Hammers sank a little more after the break.

In all the good moves, Jackson aired the London Stadium a little more by serving Cole Palmer, author of the third goal (0-3, 47th). With a good lead, Chelsea then proceeded to a large turnover with the entries of Disasi, Neto, Félix and Nkunku. If Madueke was very close to participating in the party (63rd), the Blues, solid defensively and realistic on the edges of the opposing surface, thus secured a third victory this season. In the standings, Enzo Fernandez’s teammates temporarily move up to 2nd place. West Ham are 14th.
