The PFA (Professional Footballers’ Association) held its gala evening on Tuesday at the Opera House in Manchester. Already crowned player of the year by the FA last May, Phil Foden was rewarded in the same way by the players’ union, he having accumulated 17 goals and 8 assists in 34 league games last season.
Another star of the evening was Cole Palmer, his former partner at Manchester City. For his first season at Chelsea, the England international was awarded the Young Player of the Year trophy by the union, the same title that the FA had given him in the spring. For his first full season, he scored 22 goals and provided 10 assists in 33 league games.
