PL star hailed as ‘one of the best in Europe’ has now been deemed a ‘perfect’ fit for Amorim as Utd establish interest

Amidst Ruben Amorim’s search for players that well and truly complement his newly-implemented system, Manchester United have found themselves linked with Antonee Robinson.

The Reds’ reported interest – as disclosed by GiveMeSport – comes amid a change of position for Robinson, who has switched to a left-wing back role under Marco Silva in Fulham’s most recent matches. With Amorim now relying on right-back Diogo Dalot to occupy the position, it’s no surprise that he’s seeking a natural successor to carry out his tactics as intended.

Robinson already boasts seven assists for the season thus far and, in the absence of Tom Cairney, has assumed a new role as Fulham’s captain since the beginning of December.

Two of the USMNT international’s assists came against Liverpool in a cagey 2-2 draw at Anfield last month, making it no surprise the league leaders have also added their names to the mix of his admirers.

Robinson is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after full-backs 

In regards to United’s interest, they – in an ideal world – would hope to prise Robinson from Craven Cottage before the window closes on February 3. However, the integral role he plays, partnered with the fact he’s contracted to the club until 2028, means it’d be incredibly difficult for any deal to materialise in the near future.

After becoming the only defender to assist 10 goals in 2024, he was hailed as ‘one of the best full-backs in Europe’ by talkSPORT. Such stellar form will only attract more suitors as the campaign goes on, and the Cottagers may eventually grow resigned to accepting a substantial bid for their trusty star.

The 27-year-old poses as a direct, Premier League-proven replacement for the injury-prone Luke Shaw, whose last start for United came all the way back on February 18, 2024.
