Plan your trips, FRSC urges motorists ahead of MFM convention

The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has issued traffic advisory to both motorists and commuters plying Lagos-Ibadan expressway due to the annual convention of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry slated for between August 16 and 18, 2024.

The command urged motorists to plan their journeys between Friday and Sunday so as not to be caught in the web of any chaotic traffic situation.

Spokesperson for the sector command, Florence Okpe, issued this advisory on Friday against the backdrop of the ongoing MFM global convention.

Okpe said that expectedly, the volume of both vehicular and human traffic would increase within this period and that to manage the traffic congestion, it is better people plan their journeys and avoid unnecessary trips along thw corridor.

She said that the sector command has equally deployed operatives of the corps from Mowe, Ibafo and other parts of the state in strategic locations, especially on the peak days to ensure there is no traffic congestion.

The statement partly read, “The Mountain of Fire and Miracles has lined up activities between Friday, August16 and Sunday, August 18 2024 in commemoration of the 35th Anniversary of the mssion and a global convention.

“The said programme is expected to attract a high volume of human and vehicular traffic of worshippers going into and out of the MFM Prayer City camp within the aforementioned duration.

“The personnel of FRSC from RS2.23 Mowe, RS2.23A Ibafo and other commands that will be invited on the peak day will be deployed to various strategic locations to manage and direct the flow of traffic in a bid to minimise  the traffic congestion and possibly   prevent it,   as this will save other road users from spending too much time in traffic as a result of the ongoing program.

“Other road users of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway are therefore advised to plan their journeys and avoid unnecessary trips along the corridor within the stated dates.”
