The President, John Dramani Mahama, says his doors are open to the business community as part of his resetting to build a thriving economy and create jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.

According to him, the business community would be the centre of the agenda of the government to create decent employment for the youth.

Speaking at the 22nd Annual Thanksgiving Service of First Sky Group, President Mahama in remarks made on his behalf by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, said the government would provide incentives for the private sector to thrive.

He said if the private sector players and the business community submitted proposals on job creation through the Ministry of Trade and Industry to the Office of the President, the government would provide them the necessary support and incentives to that effect.

The 22nd annual thanksgiving service was on the theme “Proclaiming God’s unfailing love.”

President Mahama commended the First Sky Group for the success the company had chalked in the past 22 years and its contribution to the development of the economy.

“It’s amazing that a company that started 22 years ago with three staff can boast of 5,000 workers with eight subsidiaries,” President Mahama stated.

The President also lauded the Group Chairman of the First Sky Group for instituting and sustaining the annual thanksgiving to thank God and acknowledged Him on how he has lifted the company from a small to a big company, saying “he who despises small beginnings shall never live to see bigger endings.”

The Group Executive Chairman of the First Sky Group of Companies, Mr Eric Seddy Kutortse, said the 22nd annual celebration was to celebrate God’s goodness to his outfit.

He said the existence of the First Sky Group had been underpinned by the abundant grace of God.

“At First Sky Group, we believe that once you put your faith and trust in God’s hands, you will find God’s hands in everything that you do,” he stated.

He said the construction company which started 22 years ago with three staff had evolved into a conglomerate with 5000 employees with eight subsidiaries in sectors such as energy, insurance, finance, hospitality.

He said the vision of the First Sky Group was to create jobs, create wealth and support God’s kingdom, bring relief to the poor and needy in the society.

He said as part of the company’s support to the service of God it had constructed more than 72 church buildings across the country and assisted in the completion of 13 others.

The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, who was the guest speaker spoke on theme “The Power of God’s unfailing love,” said God’s love to mankind was unimaginable.

He urged Christians to never credit their success to their wisdom, but to the love of God.
