A favorite emerges for the succession of Maurico Pochettino at Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino was sacked as coach on Tuesday, but the Blues wasted no time in looking for a successor. And according to Sky Sportsthey would have already identified their man: Enzo Maresca.

The Italian technician, on the Leicester City bench since last July, played a crucial role in the Foxes’ rise to the Premier League. After a season in the Championship, the 2016 English champion will return to the elite of English football next season.

3 competitors for Maresca

With the residents of the King Power Stadium, Maresca has a more than attractive record: 36 wins, 4 draws and 12 defeats. Statistics which have earned Pep Guardiola’s former assistant at Manchester City one of the potential candidates to succeed Pochettino.

According to the English media, a meeting between the two parties is even already planned to discuss a possible collaboration. However, Maresca is not the only option being considered by the Blues. Kieran McKenna (Ipswich Town), Thomas Frank (Brentford) and Sebastian Hoeness (VfB Stuttgart) are also on Chelsea’s books.
